I've been working remotely in Milan since January 2022, and by this point, I've visited just about every coffee shop there is in Milan's Navigli and Ticinese districts.

These are my top picks for laptop-friendly coffee shops in Milan's Navigli district.

BGood

Wifi: Yes
Dog-friendly: Yes
Outlets: Plenty of free outlets

BGood Cafe is my go-to cafe when I want an excellent coffee, brunch, or simply an escape from my apartment while my neighbor drills down his wall. The staff is amazing, and the cozy interior has ample outlets for remote workers.

BGood is popular among the nearby NABA students as well as older professionals, so there's almost always another remote worker hanging inside.

Tip: Avoid working from BGood on Saturday or Sunday mornings, as this is brunch time, and most tables are reserved in advance. Instead, enjoy their 18€ brunch!

Flora Et Labora

Wifi: Yes
Dog-friendly: Yes
Outlets: Plenty of free outlets

Flora et Labora is an official coworking space along Navigli's quieter canal. The cafe features several tables and outlets, outside seating, and free filtered water. However, my favorite part about this cafe is that it also doubles as a plant shop.

On your way out, you can buy a variegated pothos vine or a potted monstera!

Gramm

Wifi: No. If you need a hotspot, download an Airalo e-SIM!
Dog-friendly: Yes
Outlets: Some free outlets

Gramm Cafe is technically a bar, but there's almost always space inside due to its placement along the Naviglio Grande canal. Most tourists and Italians prefer to sit outside so they can smoke and enjoy the view, and this keeps the inside very tidy and quiet.

I recommend heading to Gramm on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and working with an Espresso martini in hand.

Rab Cafe

Wifi: Yes
Dog-friendly: Yes
Outlets: Plenty of free outlets

Rab is a large, funky cafe and bar located on Navigli's busiest shopping street. However, during the day, there is plenty of space and numerous outlets for remote workers.

The staff is extremely kind, and they also have couches and board games if you need to bring your dog or child along while you work.

Iter

Dog-friendly: Yes
Outlets: Some free outlets

Iter is a famous cafe and bar hidden in an alleyway next to Navigli's busiest canal. Known for its quirky interior and ever-changing cocktails, Iter boasts young staff and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for remote workers and students.

With friends scattered all over the city, I've worked in cafes in every crevice of Milan. However, the Navigli district is by far the best place to go if you want to work on your laptop while sipping a cappuccino.

Italy's espresso culture runs deep, and it's rare to find the same type of laid back, laptop-friendly cafes that I grew accustomed to in California and Northern Europe. Thankfully, Navigli's large student population has created the perfect environment for non-typical Italian cafes and coworking spaces to crop up and provide a cozy space for remote workers.
